Whitewater Rafting
Piedmont & Valle d'Aosta · 6 Nights

Whitewater Rafting

Six days of glacier-fed Class III–IV Piedmontese water.

The retreat

A dedicated rafting week on the finest alpine rivers of north-west Italy. Snow-melt from Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso feeds the Sesia and the Dora Baltea from late April into July — cold, clear and reliably at rafting flows. You paddle a different section each day, matched to conditions and group ability: sixes to a raft, one guide steering, one safety kayaker on the water at all times.

Highlights
  • Sesia Upper — continuous Class III with two Class IV rapids under the Monte Rosa face
  • Sesia Lower — big-volume Class III+ with forgiving pools for building confidence at speed
  • Dora Baltea, Aosta — pushy Class III–IV between glacial gorges under Gran Paradiso
  • Chisone — a punchy technical Class III run through granite boulders, early season only
  • IKF / FIRaft certified guides plus safety kayakers
  • Rafts, paddles, wetsuits, splash jackets, PFDs and helmets supplied
  • Riverside picnic lunches on every paddling day
